Frequently asked questions

Does Talbie answer every call?

You decide. With Basic, Talbie answers the calls your team misses and after-hours calls. With Complete, it answers them all.

What if the caller wants to talk to a person?

Talbie transfers the call to your team. It also does that if the caller gets frustrated, asks for a large catering order or something that's not on the menu.

How does the customer pay?

With a payment link sent by text or WhatsApp. The money goes straight to your Stripe or Square account. Talbie never asks for card numbers over the phone.

Does it work with my POS?

It connects to Square and Clover. If you use something else, orders go to a tablet or a printer in your kitchen.

How do I tell Talbie a dish is sold out?

Send a WhatsApp message like “we're out of chicken.” Talbie stops offering every chicken dish until you open the next day, or until you turn it back on.

Are calls recorded?

Yes. Talbie lets callers know at the start of every call. Recordings are kept for 90 days and you can play them from your dashboard.

What does Talbie say about allergies?

It tells callers which ingredients each dish has, but it never promises a dish is safe for an allergy.

What if something fails?

If Talbie doesn't respond, the call goes back to your restaurant's phone and we text you. No order gets lost.
